Estate 2008, da Torino a Pechino a gpl

di

Tappa fondativa dell’associazione, e da cui questa prende il nome, è l’incredibile viaggio da Torino a Pechino e ritorno, compiuto da Guido Guerrini e Andrea Gnaldi (affiancati da Nicola Dini a partire dalla capitale cinese) in 78 giorni, tra il luglio e il settembre del 2008.

Il tragitto, per un totale di 25.852 chilometri, è stato affrontato a bordo di una vecchia Fiat Marea del 1999 alimentata con impianto a gpl Imega Evo G1, che contro molti pronostici è riuscita a superare tantissime insidie (fra tutte il deserto del Gobi, in Mongolia) e a ritornare sana e salva, tanto che ancora oggi, a tre anni e mezzo di distanza, è ancora pienamente operativa.

L’itinerario era stato concepito durante un precedente viaggio in Russia nel 2004, uno dei tanti viaggi, in particolare verso est, compiuti negli anni da coloro che avrebbero poi dato vita all’associazione Torino-Pechino. Da allora ci sono voluti circa quattro anni di preparativi meticolosi, in particolare relativamente alle tantissime insidie burocratiche che l’Asia riserva.

Il viaggio si è snodato lungo due itinerari storici, la Transiberiana durante l’andata e la Via della Seta al ritorno, dando modo di incontrare culture e persone diverse, sempre disposte ad ascoltare il messaggio di pace, solidarietà e cooperazione portato dalla Torino-Pechino.

Di non secondaria importanza è stata la questione legata alla sensibilizzazione all’uso di combustibili a basso impatto ambientale, dato che una bella sfida vinta è stata riuscire a dimostrare che si può andare e tornare dalla Cina in macchina senza utilizzare benzina o combustibili tradizionali.

Dalla Torino-Pechino, che univa simbolicamente la città delle Olimpiadi Invernali del 2006 a quella delle Olimpiadi Estive del 2008, in corso di svolgimento proprio durante l’arrivo dell’equipaggio della Marea, è stato tratto il libro-diario “Aregolavanti!”
