In sei giorni l’Iveco Daily dual fuel dell’azienda Piccini Impianti ha percorso 3595 chilometri nelle fredde strade dell’Est Europa con performance sorprendenti.

Si è conclusa mercoledì 18 dicembre la prima parte del nuovo viaggio organizzato dall’Associazione Torino-Pechino. L’Iveco Daily dual fuel gasolio-metano della Piccini Impianti ha raggiunto la città di Volgograd, in Russia, dopo aver percorso 3595 chilometri.
Il tragitto, prima dell’ingresso in Russia, si è snodato attraverso l’Austria, l’Ungheria e l’Ucraina, con soste nelle città di Brody, Kiev, Valki e Lugansk. In particolare nella capitale Ucraina i tre viaggiatori Guido Guerrini, Giacomo Benedetti ed Emanuele Calchetti hanno avuto modo di documentare da vicino la particolare situazione politica che sta interessando lo stato ex sovietico e di effettuare approfondimenti diretti su un tema di stretta attualità nei telegiornali di tutto il mondo.
Durante il percorso è stato possibile effettuare costantemente rifornimenti di metano, con il solo accorgimento di utilizzare adattatori che permettessero di uniformare i tre sistemi di erogazione in uso in Italia, nel resto dell’Europa occidentale e nell’Europa orientale.
Il viaggio ha dimostrato l’affidabilità del nuovo sistema di alimentazione installato nel furgone, un impianto dual fuel realizzato dall’azienda Landi Renzo di Cavriago che mescola gasolio e metano. L’impianto ha garantito rese ottimali anche in condizioni climatiche decisamente avverse e a temperature polari. Entrando nel tecnico, il consumo complessivamente registrato è stato di 152 litri di gasolio (23,65 km/l) e 121 kg di metano (29,71 km/kg). Considerando i prezzi italiani del gasolio (1,7 euro al litro) e del metano (un euro al litro) la spesa complessiva sarebbe stata di 379,40 euro (mentre nella realtà è stata minore per il minor prezzo dei carburanti in Ucraina e Russia). Lo stesso viaggio utilizzando solo il gasolio, ipotizzando un consumo di 9,5 km/litro, sarebbe invece costato ben 642,70 euro. Il risparmio garantito dall’impianto è stato quindi di 263,30 euro, pari al 41% del totale. “Il dato particolarmente buono è giustificato anche da parametri oggettivi”, spiega Guido Guerrini: “raramente durante il viaggio le condizioni stradali e atmosferiche e severi limiti di velocità hanno permesso di superare i 100 km orari. A tutto questo va aggiunto uno stile di guida impostato sul modello “eco-drive”, fondato sull’utilizzo di marce alte e cercando di mantenere velocità costanti. Altro elemento da tenere in considerazione”, aggiunge Guerrini, “è che secondo i nostri riscontri i carburanti utilizzati in Ucraina e in Russia sono apparsi più performanti rispetto a quelli della prima parte del viaggio”.

All’arrivo a Volgograd i tre valtiberini sono stati accolti da responsabili ed ospiti della locale sede dell’Associazione Giovanni XXIII, che si occupa di progetti di assistenza ad emarginati e senzatetto. Uno degli obiettivi del viaggio era infatti quello di portare avanti la collaborazione con questa realtà, iniziata ormai tre anni fa, e che si è concretizzata anche in questa occasione con la consegna di un discreto carico di cibo e soprattutto vestiario pesante per l’inverno. Il materiale era stato raccolto in Italia grazie alla solidarietà di singoli e aziende ed è stato depositato presso la sede dell’associazione che nei prossimi giorni provvederà a distribuirlo ai bisognosi.
Per Giacomo Benedetti, per la prima volta a Volgograd, “è stato molto emozionante immaginare di battere le stesse strade che nei duri anni della Seconda guerra mondiale erano percorse dai nostri nonni in una sciagurata impresa che ha segnato le sorti dell’Europa intera. Volgograd ha un fascino particolare”, aggiunge il 33enne di Pieve Santo Stefano, “poiché si percepisce la sacralità di questa città per il popolo russo”.
Mentre Guerrini e Benedetti ripartiranno per l’Italia tra circa una settimana, Emanuele Calchetti si tratterrà in Russia ancora tre mesi: “Questa realtà è interessantissima”, dice, “e in questo periodo avrò modo di collaborare con la Giovanni XXIII in molte attività, tra le quali è in programma la realizzazione di piccoli documentari sulla realtà sociale di Volgograd”.
