Imega Corse chiude la stagione con una bella vittoria

Guerrini-Calchetti primi a San Marino, il patron Patrizio Boncompagni commenta l’annata 2013.

Archiviati con due secondi posti nelle rispettive classifiche generali il Campionato del Mondo e quello italiano per auto ad energia alternative, il team Imega Corse di Sansepolcro ha chiuso la stagione 2013 assicurandosi la vittoria tra le auto moderne nel Rally organizzato dalla San Marino Racing Organization e disputatosi domenica 10 novembre nelle strade della Repubblica del Titano.

L’equipaggio toscano, composto da Guido Guerrini ed Emanuele Calchetti su Alfa Romeo Mito a gpl, ha concluso al primo posto la gara riservata alle auto moderne (in parallelo si svolgeva anche la competizione per auto storiche, vinta dal campione italiano Armando Fontana su Porsche 911) e si è assicurato perfino una prova speciale con un premio insolito e pregiato, ovvero un prosciutto da 10 chilogrammi.

“È stato un bel modo di chiudere una stagione molto soddisfacente”, ha commentato il patron della scuderia Patrizio Boncompagni: “in particolare”, ha aggiunto, “è stato molto positivo il fatto che siamo riusciti a sopravanzare il campione del mondo Liverani, che è da anni la nostra bestia nera: magari questo risultato sarà di buon auspicio per il mondiale 2014”.

Boncompagni ha poi ripercorso le tappe di un 2013 ricco di ottimi risultati: “Dopo lo straordinario 2012, che ha portato Guerrini al secondo gradino del podio nella classifica mondiale piloti e Calchetti a conquistare il titolo iridato tra i navigatori, avevamo impostato la nuova annata come un momento di transizione, e invece ci siamo ben presto ritrovati a lottare per le primissime posizioni, riuscendo a mantenersi su livelli molto alti, confermandosi una delle realtà più importanti di questa disciplina a livello mondiale. Il tutto – ed è forse l’aspetto più soddisfacente – continuando nel lavoro di formazione di giovani piloti che portiamo avanti da anni e che ci permette di ottenere ottimi risultati sia con l’equipaggio maschile, sia con quelli femminili, sia con quelli misti, sia di avere a disposizione persone in grado di svolgere all’occorrenza tanto il compito di navigatore quanto quello di pilota”.

Ricapitolando, la stagione di Imega Corse si conclude con una vittoria e due podi nelle tappe del campionato italiano, che Guerrini ha chiuso al secondo posto nella classifica piloti; e con altri quattro piazzamenti sul podio nelle gare del campionato del mondo (Italia, Serbia, Bulgaria e Grecia), che hanno permesso al pilota toscano di chiudere secondo per il terzo anno di fila in classifica generale, mentre analogo risultato ha ottenuto la navigatrice 29enne di Pieve Santo Stefano Francesca Olivoni. Da segnalare infine il miglior piazzamento nella classifica generale piloti fra le donne per Isabelle Barciulli, che è stata anche l’unica di tutto il lotto mondiale ad andare a punti sia come pilota che come co-pilota.

Con la fine del campionato in casa Imega il lavoro non si ferma, e la scuderia è già in fermento per la preparazione della prossima stagione, senza nascondere l’ambizione di puntare a un titolo mondiale piloti che negli ultimi anni è sfuggito sempre per pochissimo.
