Si è conclusa nella mattinata di domenica la nona edizione dell’EcoRally San Marino – Città del Vaticano, seconda tappa del Campionato del Mondo per auto ad energia alternativa organizzato dalla Federazione Automobilistica Internazionale. La gara, nel congiungere i due piccoli Stati, ha attraversato il centro Italia e, a cavallo del riordino di sabato ad Arezzo, ha solcato anche i comuni valtiberini di Badia Tedalda, Pieve Santo Stefano, Caprese Michelangelo e Monterchi.
La gara è stata vinta dal fortissimo Massimo Zanasi, coadiuvato da Giuseppe Scalora, su Fiat Multipla alimentata a metano. Il duo della scuderia Modena Historica, con una importante rimonta finale, ha sopravanzato di appena 4 centesimi di secondo il campione del mondo in carica Massimo Liverani, che con Valeria Strada difendeva i colori della Ecomotori Racing Team a bordo di una 500 Abarth a metano e bioetanolo. Terzo gradino del podio per l’altra 500 Abarth di Ecomotori, stavolta a gpl, della coppia Ventura-Porta. Quarto posto per i biturgensi Guido Guerrini ed Isabelle Barciulli (team Imega) su Alfa Romeo Mito a gpl, davanti all’analogo veicolo dei piemontesi Viganò-Fovana del Team RaceBioConcept. Schiacciante quindi la supremazia degli equipaggi italiani, che hanno lasciato ai margini della zona punti tutti i team stranieri.
Nella due giorni di gare si è svolto anche il 6° EcoRally Press, riservato alle testate giornalistiche: la categoria, che negli anni è diventata particolarmente prestigiosa nel settore delle energie alternative, ha visto la partecipazione delle principale testate nazionali, ed il podio ha riservato una piacevole sorpresa: alle spalle degli equipaggi del portale Ecomotori e de La Repubblica, infatti, si è piazzato il team di Radio Valtiberina (Errevutì), composto da Francesca Olivoni ed Emanuele Calchetti (nella foto durante la premiazione), su Nissan Micra con impianto a gpl Imega: “Per la verità abbiamo dovuto combattere per tutta la gara con una discreta serie di problemi agli strumenti di misurazione”, ha evidenziato il navigatore biturgense, “ma sono cose che in questo sport possono capitare e certo non possiamo lamentarci di un risultato sorprendente e soddisfacente, che colloca una realtà della Valtiberina subito alle spalle di testate che non hanno bisogno di presentazioni”.
Felice anche la pilota dell’inedito equipaggio, che ha ottenuto il miglior risultato in assoluto per un’auto guidata da una donna: “Due giorni fatti di 25 prove di regolarità e quattro speciali a media imposta sono certamente impegnativi, ma il buon risultato ripaga abbondantemente della fatica e ci rende orgogliosi di portare in alto il nome della nostra valle”, ha detto la driver di Pieve Santo Stefano.
Tornando alla graduatoria valida per il mondiale FIA, Guido Guerrini vede segnali incoraggianti nella gara sammarinese: “Siamo finiti fuori dal podio per un niente, al termine di una gara in cui i primi cinque equipaggi si sono affrontati alla pari e ciascuno avrebbe potuto vincere. Segno”, conclude il pilota toscano, “che siamo assolutamente competitivi e in grado di giocarci le primissime posizioni con i più forti equipaggi del circus mondiale”.
Isabelle Barciulli, che già l’anno scorso riuscì ad andare a punti sia come pilota che come pilota, conferma la propria poliedricità e aumenta di 10 lunghezze il proprio bottino iridato: “Merito della scuderia Imega”, spiega la biturgense, “che negli anni ha saputo formare in Valtiberina un significativo numero di piloti e copiloti in grado di competere su alti livelli in entrambe le specializzazioni, permettendo di adeguarsi di volta in volta alle esigenze della squadra”.
